The temperature of the main shaft bearing in the coke oven gas compressor fluctuated by 20 degrees; the bearing was inspected after the machine was shut down, but no signs of friction were found. The instrument’s wires and probes were replaced, yet the problem persisted upon restarting the machine – the fluctuations continued. It seems to be worse compared to the previous two instances Help needed
Adjust the bearing shell clearance and lap the oil retention points to better form an oil film, using oil flow to cool the bearing temperature.
