The nitrogen and hydrogen compressor facility at my company is equipped with oxygen detectors, but I personally think this is unnecessary. Moreover, relevant standards do not require their installation; so why are they installed? Are there any such requirements??? I would appreciate some advice from everyone.
Most oxygen detectors these days are portable; they are used to measure the oxygen concentration in the area where people are working, and they come equipped with audio and visual alarms (when the concentration is below 19.5%) to prevent hypoxia from occurring. High-oxygen conditions are less common; they generally occur in hyperbaric oxygen chambers or environments with liquid oxygen, where the oxygen concentration exceeds 23%. If it is a fixed detection and alarm device, it is basically installed indoors. Examples include laboratories that conduct chemical analyses, sealed warehouses and ship cabins, as well as rooms for storing hazardous materials that are flammable or explosive – places where the oxygen concentration can decrease.
