In the process industry, various liquids are mixed together in specific proportions for processing, catalysts undergo reactive mixing, and the reaction products are monitored and their ratios are controlled. However, existing industrial equipment (pumps, pipelines, environmental factors, etc.) has certain deviations, making it difficult to accurately measure the actual parameters. Production can only be guided by offline laboratory analyses, which affects product quality and causes significant economic losses for enterprises. Soft sensing enables real-time online measurement of the parameters that need to be monitored, and it automatically adjusts the parameter settings so that the actual values match the requirements set for production. This helps to reduce the rate of defective products, improve product quality, and lower energy consumption.
Analytical instruments have a relatively large lag, so the quality of control is generally not high. If there is a definite relationship between the components and measurable parameters such as temperature and pressure, using soft sensing is a viable method.
