In recent days, the 450,000 tons/year high-density polyethylene (HDPE) plant as part of the comprehensive utilization project for coal, oil, and gas resources in Yan’an, which is being constructed by Sinopec Refining & Chemical Engineering Group Company No. 10, has reached the final stages of completion. This plant is the largest high-density polyethylene production facility in the world in terms of output capacity. It is understood that the comprehensive utilization project of coal, oil, and gas resources in Yan’an is the largest energy and chemical project invested in Yan’an by the Yanchang Petroleum Group. The total investment in this project amounts to around 24 billion yuan, and it consists of 10 production units along with the corresponding utility systems and auxiliary facilities. Shi Jian Company was primarily responsible for the installation work of the 450,000 tons per year high-density polyethylene plant, as well as some of the civil engineering works related to water supply and drainage. After the installation was completed on December 21, 2017, despite challenges such as numerous design changes and delayed delivery of materials, the project team organized work scientifically and planned meticulously. They continuously optimized the construction plans, taking the construction of process pipelines as the key task, and sorted out the remaining tasks for various specialties, striving to ensure that the installation could be successfully commissioned in early June. Throughout the project construction, all employees involved overcame harsh weather conditions such as strong winds and sandstorms in northern Shaanxi and severe cold in winter, and improved the construction efficiency through management innovation and enhanced work efficiency. Based on the drawings and the availability of materials, the “100-Day Labor Competition” was organized in a timely manner, creating a favorable construction environment for the project. As of March 28, the pressure testing and purging of the process pipelines for the 450,000 tons per year high-density polyethylene (HDPE) plant are nearly complete. All individual tests of the compression units have been finished, and more than half of the joint operation tests have been completed, creating favorable conditions for a successful first start-up of the entire project.
