Dear sea friends, what level should the hydrogen sulfide content in the lean methanol from low-temperature methanol washing be controlled at? Analysis frequency?
Most factories use the iodine titration method to determine the sulfur content in lean methanol. This method is an indirect way of measuring H2S content; its underlying principle is to measure the amount of reducing substances present in methanol. Generally speaking, the so-called H2S levels measured by this method do not exceed 20 ppm, and it has little impact on the absorption efficiency. As for the frequency of analysis, it depends on the outcome of the negotiation between the process team and the analysts. Some are once a day, while others are once a week. The basic principle is that when the operating conditions are stable, less analysis is required; whereas when the conditions are unstable, the frequency of analysis should be increased.
