PDS activation is often mentioned in the literature, but no method for its activation has been found yet. What is the process for activating PDS? Thank you everyone
Method of activation: First, in about 40 liters of alkaline solution with a concentration of 0.3N–0.5N, add around 2 Kg of PDS, stir well, introduce air, and carry out the activation process for 4 hours. Secondly, about 2 Kg of PDS is added directly to a solution of around 40L, mixed well, and air is introduced for activation over a period of 4 hours. The replenishment into the system is carried out using the drip method.
Generally, activation is no longer necessary nowadays; full dissolution is sufficient
The activation process is the one in which the PDS desulfurization catalyst is fully oxygenated, by ensuring that the PDS solution comes into full contact with air so that the catalyst is completely saturated with oxygen and can then exert its oxidizing effect within the system.
