To reduce the impact of carbon dioxide released during low-temperature methanol washing on the air separation unit, the vent point was located near the flare, about 800 meters away from the air separation unit. And that’s where the problem arose. 1. The pipe diameter should be 1.4 meters; what is a good material for the vent pipe? Stainless steel is expensive; is it feasible to use carbon steel with internal and external anti-corrosion treatments? Or carbon steel lined composite plate or stainless steel? 2. Is there a specific standard for the height of the vent tube? Over 50 meters or not less than 80 meters? 3. Which type of vent tube has a lower cost? Tower format or equipment format? 4. If the height of the torch is 95 meters and the venting point is set at 80 meters, with a straight-line distance of 80 meters between them, does carbon dioxide have any impact on the continuous burning of the torch?
It’s fine to place it downwind of the air separation unit; there’s no need to route it to the area around the flare for discharge
Material of the vent pipe? Are there any requirements for the height of the vent tube?
150 meters from the air separation compressor inlet should be sufficient.
