The main functions of filling the pure methanol storage tank with N2 are as follows; feel free to add more: (1) To ensure that the tank remains under slightly positive pressure, thereby preventing a negative pressure from forming inside the tank when methanol is transferred out. (2) Prevent air from entering the tank and mixing with methanol vapor, thereby avoiding explosion accidents. (3) Prevent moisture in the air from entering the tank, which could cause the product’s moisture content to be below the required standard. (4) Prevent oxygen in the air from coming into contact with the metal in the tank and forming oxides, which could result in substandard quality of the pure methanol product.
Ensure that the storage tank remains at a slight positive pressure to prevent a negative pressure from forming inside the tank when methanol is discharged. Prevent air from entering the tank and mixing with methanol vapor to cause combustion. Prevent moisture in the air or snowmelt from entering the tank, as this could lead to quality issues with the product, given that methanol is hygroscopic.
