When low-temperature methanol washing is used to absorb gases, does absorbing a high concentration of H2S affect the absorption of CO2?
There will be some impact, but the methanol circulation rate in the H2S washing section can be increased based on the H2S content in the original purified gas. Since this amount is very small, as long as there are not significant changes in the H2S levels under initial conditions, it will basically have no effect on the absorption of CO2.
The solubilities of H2S and CO2 differ greatly; the amount of methanol that can absorb CO2 is much higher than that which can absorb H2S.
Absorb carbon dioxide first, then hydrogen sulfide. Two paragraphs absorbed!
It depends on what the conditions of your design are like; there is no impact as long as the designed absorption capacity is not exceeded.
