During transportation or charging, the new catalyst inevitably breaks down and generates dust; generally, screening is carried out during the charging process, and after charging, the reactor is purged with nitrogen or air.
One is the damage caused during transportation, and the other major reason is the issue of strength. The quality of imported catalysts from Clariant is average, but some domestic methanol synthesis catalysts are quite good; it’s important to consider both the brand and the model.
