The pre-acceptance inspection of the 200,000-ton/year project for producing ethylene glycol from excess synthesis gas in the Yongcheng plant was carried out by the group company. According to reports from Yongcheng, Henan, on October 20, 2020, Wang Yiming, deputy director of the Safety and Environment Department of the group company, and Shang Yangfeng, deputy general manager of the Chemical New Materials Company, led the acceptance committee and expert team for this project to conduct a pre-acceptance inspection prior to the start of production at the newly built ethylene glycol facility. Based on the opinions of the expert group and after discussion by the acceptance committee, it was determined that the new ethylene glycol project in the Yongcheng industrial park meets the requirements for commissioning, and pre-acceptance is granted in principle. Regarding the 64 issues raised by the expert panel during the acceptance process, testing can proceed once these issues have been resolved and reported to the group company for record-keeping. The production of ethylene glycol from excess syngas at Longyu Coal Chemical in Yongcheng, Henan, involves using 50,000 standard cubic meters of excess syngas per hour for this purpose, with an annual production capacity of 200,000 tons. Construction of the project began in March 2018, and mechanical installation was completed in December 2019.
