For the ammonia synthesis reaction, oxygen is toxic; therefore, the oxygen content in the feed material is required to be less than 10 ppm. However, the process specifications require that the oxygen content during the purging process before startup be less than 0.2%. There is a significant difference between these requirements. What is the reason for this?
The only thing that truly matters is that it does not affect the production targets.
Are the two indicators related to the same location? That is, at the same location, the gas volume before driving is a one-time amount, while the raw gas supplied thereafter is continuous; thus the degree of damage is different
Before starting up the system, it is purged with nitrogen; since the oxygen content in nitrogen is not as low as 10 ppm, it is sufficient to reduce the oxygen content in the system to less than 0.2% before operation. Once feeding begins and a large amount of gas enters the system, the oxygen content drops rapidly.
