Completion of Mechanical Installation for Tianying Petrochemical’s Ethylene Glycol Production Project from Natural Gas / Author/Source: Huahua Network – Coal Chemical Industry / Date: 2017-12-28 / Clicks: 10 On the morning of December 26, a ceremony marking the completion of the mechanical installation for Tianying Petrochemical Co., Ltd.’s 300,000 tons per year (150,000 tons per year in the first phase) ethylene glycol production project from natural gas was held at the factory site in Alar City, Xinjiang. The successful mechanical completion of the Xinjiang Tianying natural gas-to-ethylene glycol project marks the establishment of China’s first such facility in the interior of southern Xinjiang, filling a gap in the coal chemical industry held by enterprises under the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps. The Tianying natural gas-to-ethylene glycol project has a total investment of 2.205 billion yuan, with an annual production capacity of 300,000 tons of ethylene glycol. It is constructed in two phases; the first phase involves a plant with an annual production capacity of 150,000 tons of ethylene glycol, and it also includes some of the utility facilities needed for the second phase. The project commenced on April 11, 2016, with the first blow of the rammer in the dynamic compaction work, and was fully completed mechanically in accordance with the contract on December 26, 2017. Leaders including the Party Committee Secretary of the Corps, Deputy Commander Yao Xinmin, Zhou Weijun, Deputy Director of the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the Corps, Chu Jianjiang, Chairman of Tianying Petrochemical Co., Ltd., and Cui Congquan, General Manager of Donghua Engineering Technology Co., Ltd., attended the completion ceremony and delivered speeches. Representatives from the main contractors involved in the project construction, such as Donghua Technology, China National Chemical Engineering Corporation’s Sixth Construction Company, and its Sixteenth Construction Company, also attended the ceremony. It is reported that the completion of the project’s machinery marks the end of the construction phase; thereafter, the project will enter a full-scale testing stage. All parties involved will continue to increase their efforts and make careful plans to ensure that the installation meets high standards during the commissioning process, with the goal of producing high-quality ethylene glycol as soon as possible. Tianying Petrochemical Co., Ltd. of the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps was registered in Alar on April 30, 2014. Approved by the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the Corps, it was established by five shareholders: Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps Investment Co., Ltd., Xinjiang Zhengtong Petroleum and Natural Gas Co., Ltd., China-Singapore New Development Investment Co., Ltd., Beijing Xinggao Chemical Technology Co., Ltd., and Xinjiang Qingsong Building Materials and Chemicals Company.
