The Xinjiang Zhongtai methanol project uses Nanhua C307 catalyst for the commissioning of the purified recycle gas compressor

According to Erhua Jian, on January 9, 2025, the test run of the recycle gas compressor in the purification unit of the upgrading demonstration project for methanol production through comprehensive utilization of new material resources in Xinjiang’s branch was successful on the first attempt. According to Sinochem New Network, by the end of December 2024, the C307 methanol synthesis catalyst developed by the R&D institute of Nanhua Company was successfully contracted for use in Xinjiang Zhongtai (Group) Co., Ltd.’s 1 million tons per year coal-to-methanol project. This collaboration will promote the domestic substitution of methanol synthesis catalysts. The methanol synthesis catalyst produced by Nanhua is used in large-scale methanol production plants in China that employ the David, Lurgi, Cassali, Topsoe and other processes. This catalyst boasts advantages such as good strength, stable reduction performance, high activity, low consumption, high selectivity, strong adaptability, great operational flexibility, and excellent stability. To date, it has been successfully applied in over 100 methanol production units both domestically and internationally. The domestic market share is about 38%. In 2023, it also received the industry’s first dual certification for carbon footprint.
