On April 3, 2026, the Rudong Yangkou Port Economic Development Zone in Jiangsu officially approved a project for the production of 800,000 tons of green methanol per year (Port Management Approval No. [2026] 30). The establishment of the project in the Yangkou Chemical Industry Park in Rudong County, Nantong City, marks this coastal hub for energy and chemical industries as officially entering the core arena of changes in global shipping fuels. Driven by both the \"dual carbon\" goals and the need to decarbonize shipping, green methanol is emerging as the next generation of mainstream marine fuel after LNG. Raohe Port is leveraging wind power, LNG cooling energy, biomass resources, and its port facilities to establish a closed-loop system of \"green electricity + biomass + port refueling\".
