The equipment installation for the energy-saving technology upgrade project for coal gasification at Chongqing Xiangyu Salt Chemicals has fully commenced. Recently, the energy-saving technology upgrade project for coal gasification at Chongqing Xiangyu Salt Chemicals started in 2022; on February 14, the project team carried out the handover of tasks related to the civil engineering work and equipment installation for the cold box foundation. Civil construction began in June 2021, during which multiple layers were completed, including foundation piles, cushion layers, waterproof separation layers, frost-resistant concrete layers, waterproof mortar layers, and pearlescent sand concrete layers. The foundation of the air separation cold box was completed in early January 2022. The civil engineering work for the foundation of the air separation cryogenic tank was carried out by Hunan Industrial Equipment Installation Co., Ltd. Given the high level of professionalism required for the installation of such tanks, as well as the large amount of aluminum welding involved, the actual installation was undertaken by the equipment supplier, Sichuan Air Separation (Equipment) Group Co., Ltd. To clarify the work interfaces and the handover of tasks, this work interface handover is carried out prior to the formal installation work. Under the joint witness and inspection of the supervisor and the general contractor, the construction interface was successfully handed over. On February 15, 2022, welding work on the cold box panels was carried out at the air separation site of the gasification energy-saving technology upgrade project, which was overseen by China Wuhuan Engineering Co., Ltd.; this marked the full commencement of the equipment installation phase for the project. It is reported that the air separation equipment for this project has already been shipped in large quantities to the construction site. At present, the instrument air buffer tanks, electric heaters, and steam heaters are being installed one after another, and subsequent equipment such as air cooling towers, water cooling towers, and molecular sieve adsorbers will also be delivered to the site and installed gradually. The general contracting project for the energy-saving technology upgrade of Chongqing Xiangyu Salt Chemical Gasification is located in Wanzhou District, Chongqing. The construction scale includes: a 300,000 tons/year ammonia synthesis plant, an air separation unit, a gasification unit, a purification unit, along with the associated utility systems (excluding boilers) and auxiliary facilities. Wuhuan Project won the general contract for the energy-saving technology upgrade project of Chongqing Xiangyu Salt and Chemical Gasification under the EPCC model, with the contract value awarded to Wuhuan Project amounting to approximately 1.056 billion yuan. The completion of this project represents an innovation in the energy-saving process technologies for existing ammonia synthesis plants; by reducing energy consumption, it plays a significant role in effectively controlling the overall environmental emissions in the Three Gorges Reservoir area.
