The LNG and liquid ammonia production project utilizing coke oven gas, designed by the Southwest Institute, was successfully commissioned in one go. Recently, the 50,000 Nm3/h coke oven gas-to-LNG and ammonia synthesis project of Hejin Huayuan Gas Co., Ltd., designed by Southwest Chemical Research and Design Institute Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “the Southwest Institute”), had its entire process flow operationalized; all process technical parameters met the design requirements, enabling the successful production of LNG and liquid ammonia products. This project utilizes the gas purification-separation-methanation technology owned by the Southwest Research Institute, which enables multi-stage separation and reallocation of coke oven gas to achieve co-production of LNG and liquid ammonia. Once put into operation, this project will be able to process 400 million Nm3 of coke oven gas per year, produce 80,000 tons of LNG annually, and generate 60,000 tons of liquid ammonia per year. It will also help reduce the emission of pollutants such as tar, naphthalene, sulfur, and ammonia, offering significant economic, environmental, and social benefits. This project is the first LNG plant powered by coke oven gas to come online since the integration of the Southwest Research Institute; it successfully combines the advanced technical skills and engineering capabilities of the former Sichuan Tianyi Technology Co., Ltd. and the former Southwest Chemical Engineering Research and Design Institute Co., Ltd., thereby ensuring high quality and excellence in the design of this project. The successful one-time startup of this device further verifies the stability and reliability of our company’s technologies in coke oven gas methanization, methanization catalysts, specialized adsorbents, and dedicated equipment, thereby strengthening our company’s leading position in the field of comprehensive utilization of coke oven gas.
