I’ve encountered this twice recently: the motor doesn’t rotate, the frequency converter shows no output, and the circuit breaker trips. It was found that the motor bearings were damaged, causing stalling, and the frequency converter was also damaged. How to check the reasons why the frequency converter does not display, and how to repair it! Help! !
There is a problem with the settings of the inverter. Based on the observed symptoms: since the motor isn’t rotating, it’s experiencing a stall condition; the current resulting from this stall is very high, which should cause the inverter to trip due to overcurrent. However, this level of current is not sufficient to cause the air switch to trip. In the end, the inverter gets damaged as a result of the overcurrent, and the short-circuit current that results causes the air switch to open!
Perhaps your electrician has set the frequency converter so that it has no protection
It’s an ABB550 frequency converter – how can it be set up to protect the motor, and which parameters need to be adjusted?
A professional electrician is required to make the settings according to the ABB ACS550 manual
The inverter will shut down as a form of protection when the motor is stuck, and this is normal; it will not cause the switch to trip. The switch tripping may be due to overcurrent in the inverter, which has led to a short circuit
