Currently, the voltage of the bus combustible gas alarm is low. I am considering whether it would be feasible to use two 24V switching power supplies in parallel to supply power; are there any measures that need to be taken?
How can we find out what is causing the low voltage? If the power supply voltage is too low, address the power supply issue; if the cable cross-sectional area is too small, increase it. There is no need to connect two 24V power supplies in parallel
I agree with the moderator’s opinion; it’s better to find out the cause of the low voltage and address it accordingly.
Just use a voltmeter to measure the power supply first. If it’s not enough, connect more power.
Two more diodes are connected in parallel: lol
Use ordinary parallel cables to increase the cross-sectional area
1. The power supply voltage is sufficient. 2. The cross-sectional area of the cable is okay; however, when more combustible gas sensors were added, the voltage became insufficient, even though the distance is only 100 meters. 3. The best solution is to increase the power supply; if the power supplies can be connected together, the construction work required will be minimal
100 meters, 24V low voltage; the voltage drop is likely too high
Under normal circumstances, there should be no problems with the power supply; based on your description, the power supply is fine. The issue arose when more combustible sensors were added, resulting in insufficient voltage. This statement alone explains the problem: the load became too heavy, and the VA capacity of the original cables was not enough to handle it. The only solution is to increase the cross-sectional area of the cables; there is no other way around it.
I agree with the opinions of those above; there is only one situation in which parallel connection of power supplies is used, and that is when the loads on the power supplies are mismatched. You need to check the supply current of the power source as well as the requirements of the external load; when a single power source is not sufficient, a parallel connection can be used to meet the demands.
