Selection of whether the access control system is explosion-proof

There’s a question: we’re going to the production area of a chemical plant to install fingerprint access controls, and do these controls need to be explosion-proof? Or is there some standard that can be used as a reference?
Are you planning to set up access control in an explosion-proof area? If it’s not an explosion-proof area, then why install explosion-proof doors? As long as the distance from the explosion-proof area is sufficient!
