Does a Class C workshop with natural gas cooking stoves require a fire alarm system?
Based on Article 8.4.1 of the Code for Fire Protection Design of Buildings GB 50016 - 2014 (2018 edition), which states that \"Automatic fire alarm systems shall be installed in the following buildings or premises: 1 Factories for purposes such as shoe manufacturing, garment production, toy manufacturing, and electronics manufacturing, where the floor area of any single floor is greater than 1500 m2 or the total building area is greater than 3000 m2\", it can be determined whether such Class C workshops require an automatic fire alarm system. According to ‘8.4.3 Areas within a building where flammable gases or vapors may be released shall be equipped with gas alarm devices’, the gas furnace room in this Class C workshop needs to have such alarm devices installed
A combustible system certainly needs to be installed; the key question is whether a fire protection system is necessary

Fire detectors and automatic alarm systems shall be installed in non-independent boiler rooms, as well as in independent boiler rooms where the rated evaporation capacity of a single steam boiler is 10 t/h or more, or the total rated evaporation capacity is 40 t/h or more; and where the rated heat output of a single hot water boiler is 7 MW or more, or the total rated heat output is 28 MW or more. GB50160-2008 Article 8.12.1: Fire alarm systems and fire telephone alarm systems shall be installed in areas prone to fire hazards within the production areas of petrochemical enterprises, as well as in their shared and auxiliary production facilities, major facility installations across the entire site, and major regional facilities.
Personally, I don’t think Category C factories are likely to be those used by petrochemical enterprises.
Is it the industry that determines the oil chemical plant buildings, rather than the fire hazard classification of individual buildings?
