Single-flange level gauge – is the zero point of the level gauge the lower edge of the opening?

Hello everyone, I have a question: do we use single-flange or double-flange pressure transmitters to measure liquid levels? For example, it is an opening of DN80. When calculating the liquid level zero point, should it be based on the center of the flange or the lower edge of the opening?
Does the pressure on the diaphragm come from the middle of the flange to the lower edge of the flange?
Pressure will be generated, and changes in the position of the gauge head can also lead to inaccurate measurements, as the oil pressure at both ends of the capillary changes
