What does Zone 20 certification mean in explosion protection certification?

In explosion protection certification, hazardous areas are classified into explosive gas environments and combustible dust environments based on the state of the substances present in those areas. Based on the duration of presence of hazardous substances in a particular area, we further divide the hazard levels of explosive gas environments and flammable gas environments into 3 zones. It is clear that Zone 0/20 is the most dangerous zone. The requirements for the explosion protection rating of explosion-proof electrical equipment are also the strictest.
