Why does the methanol-to-hydrogen decarbonization vent line contain a large amount of water?
It is not known whether liquid-air separation was performed before venting; under normal conditions, a small amount of water is carried away. It is also unclear whether the vent line is equipped with a silencer – if there is a silencer, there should be a low-pressure release valve and a drain trap, and it is necessary to check that the drainage function is working properly.
This phenomenon is likely caused by poor separation in the converter buffer tank; either a high temperature in the washing section, which results in too much water vapor being carried forward, could lead to this issue.
