Catalyst presulfurization

Our diesel hydrogenation unit uses a three-bed hydrogenation system, with newly installed catalysts in the upper beds. I would like to ask the experts: when carrying out pre-sulfidization again, is the procedure the same as that used during the first pre-sulfidization of the unit? If so, will it have any impact on the catalysts that have already been pre-sulfidized? What precautions should be taken? If it’s different, what is that pre-vulcanization process? What needs to be noted in such cases?
The same! Just follow the pre-vulcanization heating curve!
As far as I know, after replacing the catalyst it should still be dried, following the heating curve, and then vulcanized, just like during the first startup, although the amounts used might be different
Some catalysts do not require drying; for example, Standard Company’s hydrocracking catalysts (type II active phase catalysts) do not need to be dried
Just follow the vulcanization curve provided by the catalyst manufacturer – go by what the manufacturer suggests
