I would like to ask the experts: as we start up the diesel hydrogenation process, the hydrogen-related systems need to be purged by blasting. Which pipelines require such blasting? How many layers of asbestos tape are needed, and what pressure does that correspond to? How should the operating pressure of the pipelines be determined, and what pressure level should be used for blasting? Are there any industry standards for blasting?

Blasting for cleaning has limited effectiveness in cases of small pipe diameters; it works better for pipes with a diameter of DN80 or larger. It’s also advisable to have some 3mm thick asbestos felt available. The blasting pressure should generally be kept around 0.3 MPa – higher pressures can cause excessive vibration in the pipes. Make the necessary preparations and conduct a few trial blasts to determine what works best for your specific setup. Different sizes and designs of systems lead to various situations during blasting. The most important thing is ensuring blasting safety; it’s absolutely crucial to avoid injuring anyone, as this isn’t a trivial matter
