What are the methods to prevent surge in compressors?

Reduce the speed and open the anti-stall valve
1. Control the pressure difference at the inlet and outlet of the recycle hydrogen compressor. 2. Control the temperature at the inlet and outlet of the recycle hydrogen compressor. 3. Control the amount of recycle hydrogen in the plant system (at the inlet of the recycle hydrogen compressor). These 5 points are the conditions that can trigger compressor surge; by controlling these 5 factors, surge can be prevented
During normal production, the anti-surge valve is not allowed to be opened, unless the plant is operating at low load and there is insufficient amount of recycled hydrogen
Make sure the machine operates at a flow rate above its minimum level; the anti-surge system must be activated right when it is started up!
Increase the outlet pressure, but this will increase energy consumption. To prevent the surge valve from opening, it is possible to choose to reduce the pressure for the user, which also helps to avoid the surge valve from opening. If the user cannot reduce the pressure any further, then the only option is to increase the outlet pressure
Any method that can reduce the compressor outlet pressure and increase the gas flow rate before surge is feasible
Compressor surge: low inlet flow, high outlet pressure; Adjustments are made to these two key factors: the anti-surge valve is opened to increase the inlet flow rate, and the speed is reduced
