I’m currently working on the high-pressure residue hydrogenation unit; the project is in the preparation stage. In the past, with conventional processes, there wasn’t much in-depth research on the equipment and instruments, but now I need to understand everything related to them. I have a few questions for the experts. 1. How is pressure measurement carried out in high-pressure residue pipelines? Given the use of backflow hydrogen, how is pressure measurement possible, and could fluctuations in the pressure of the backflow hydrogen affect the pressure measurement values? 2. As shown in the diagram for the high-pressure to low-pressure section, why is the Y-type stop valve arranged facing forward rather than along the flow direction? 3. As shown in the figure above, some high-pressure valves have liquid entering from the bottom and exiting from the top, while others have liquid entering from the side and exiting from the bottom. Why is this design chosen? 4. The force-applying surface of the high-pressure floating ball valve is the black box surrounding the ball valve; yet it is not arranged along the flow direction either. Question 4: The control valve can be switched off to prevent solid impurities from clogging the valve; therefore, a series of valve assemblies have been installed.
