The lateral temperature indicates the temperatures at different points on the same plane of the catalyst bed; it is used to monitor the occurrence of hot spots, serving as a reference point for other temperature points on that same plane; The longitudinal temperature reflects the temperature rise, as well as the intensity of the reaction
Catalyst bed temperature and wall temperature
Longitudinal temperature rise refers to the comparison of bed temperatures at different heights, while radial temperature rise is the comparison of temperatures at various points within the same layer that are at different radii.
The transverse temperature is the bed temperature, while the longitudinal temperature is used to measure the temperature difference.
Horizontal temperature refers to the radial temperature difference; it is used to detect issues such as flow deviation, coking, and channeling within the reactor. Vertical temperature measures the temperature rise
The lateral temperature is primarily used to detect whether there is a flow deviation in the catalyst, while the longitudinal temperature is mainly used to measure the temperature rise across the entire bed!
