Why is a flame arrester installed on the gas feed to the heating furnace?
A furnace flame arrester is a safety device used to prevent the spread of flames from flammable gases and liquids and to avoid explosions caused by backfire. Typically installed in storage tanks and pipelines for transporting or discharging flammable and explosive gases, flame arresters are designed and manufactured based on the principle that a flame is extinguished due to heat loss when it passes through the narrow pores of a heat conductor. The flame arrestor’s flame barrier structure can be of the gravel type, wire mesh type, or corrugated type.
Prevent tempering from reaching the gas system, which could cause fires or explosions!
