Why must the cold hydrogen line of the hydrogenation unit be led from the outlet of the circulator? Can it be led out after the hydrogen mixing point? Why?

Temperature is one aspect; on the other hand, cold hydrogen is drawn from the outlet of the circulation machine, while all the new hydrogen goes to the reactor inlet. This results in a higher purity of hydrogen at the reactor inlet, which is beneficial for the progress of the reaction and for protecting the catalyst.
The outlet temperature of the recycled hydrogen is around 50 degrees Celsius, while that of the fresh hydrogen is around 120 degrees Celsius. Cold hydrogen is mainly used in emergency situations!

The role of cold hydrogen is to control the inlet temperature of the next reactor or the inlet temperature of the next bed during normal operation; a higher temperature of the cold hydrogen will inevitably increase its consumption, thereby increasing the load on the compressors and raising energy costs. In emergency situations within the plant, cold hydrogen serves to rapidly reduce temperature and stop the reaction. Therefore, it’s certainly better to have a lower temperature. Moreover, fresh hydrogen compressors are reciprocating types that require oil to cool and lubricate the cylinders and piston rings. This oil ends up in the system. If mixed hydrogen is used as cold hydrogen, oil may accumulate in the one-way valves over time, preventing the cold hydrogen from functioning properly and leading to problems. Hence, recycled hydrogen is used as cold hydrogen.
