After reinstallation, pressure testing and a comprehensive leak check were performed, with no issues found. Now, after starting up the equipment, leakage has been detected – how should this be dealt with?
High fluid exchange can be caused by tube bundle leaks or gaskets; it may be due to one of the following reasons: 1. In fact, there were already problems with the tube bundle during maintenance, but due to coking on the tubes, thorough cleaning wasn’t possible, and no leaks were detected when pressure was applied after reinstallation. Later, leaks occurred as temperature and pressure increased. 2. In some factories, the housings and distribution boxes used in their high-pressure systems are made of the same material, but it has been observed on occasion that one of them is made of forged material while the other isn’t; as a result, their expansion coefficients differ, which leads to leaks once the system is turned on. 3. It could be a leak in the gasket. Tighten the external inner-ring bolts; these are spare bolts that act directly on the sealing disc, with the force being transmitted backward. Through the reaction force of the internal bolts, this force reaches the gaskets between the tube bundle and the tube box. Let’s see if it works; if not, we’ll just have to open it and take a look.
Those that can maintain production should do so until the scheduled maintenance is carried out; those that cannot, or those that may cause risks to safe production, require unplanned or emergency maintenance. For reference.
