Why is there a reflux tank at the top of the gasoline hydrodesulfurization stripper? What is its function? I hope someone knowledgeable can answer this, thanks!
There are many types of stripping towers; are you using non-condensable gas stripping or reboiling stripping? Under normal circumstances, since the gas phase contains hydrogen and hydrogen sulfide – with hydrogen sulfide in particular – the separation from gasoline results in the removal of light components, leading to lower yields and an increased load on the downstream gas phase. Therefore, by recovering the oil vapor in the gas phase through a reflux tank, liquid phase loss is reduced, and at the same time the load on the downstream rich gas compressor is decreased as the liquid phase content in the gas phase is lowered
