The drain flow rate from the drum of our hydrogen production unit is approximately 3 tons per hour. The conductivity of the water, as determined by quality analysis, is around 70 us/cm. The unit is equipped with a built-in water treatment system designed to treat the condensate generated in the hydrogen production process and to return the treated water to the deaerator. 1. The water used for continuous discharge is usually from advanced flash tanks, which produce steam at a pressure of around 0.2 Mpa. I’m not sure whether the conductivity value of 70 US/cm you mentioned was measured on the water before it enters the tank or on the water after flash evaporation. If it’s the water after flash evaporation that is fed into the treatment system, there are no technical issues with that. However, economic factors need to be considered: additional pumps and increased electricity consumption are required, making such an approach uneconomical.
The water samples taken before flash evaporation are taken at a rate of 3 tons per hour; the cost for treating each ton of wastewater is 27 yuan, while fresh water costs 7 yuan per ton. In total, that amounts to over 800,000 yuan per year
That concentrated salt must have some way to be discharged; your desalinated water also incurs costs

The water quality in your boiler is acceptable; the conductivity is within the national standard range of <150. It is recommended to reduce the amount of water discharged to avoid waste.
I’m not sure what the flow rate at your facility is, but there are requirements regarding the discharge volume. It also depends on the quality of your water and the parameters of the steam produced. I would recommend trying to reduce the discharge volume – you can do this several times. In our case, the water is cooled before being fed back into the circulation system. We’ve seen some plants use the steam generated for oxygen removal in deaerators or for other purposes
