Sinopec has applied for a patent regarding a method for preparing a diesel hydrodesulfurization catalyst that helps to reduce the reaction temperature. According to information from the Intellectual Property Office, Sinopec Corporation and Sinopec (Dalian) Petrochemical Research Institute Co., Ltd. have filed a patent with the title “A Method for Preparing a Diesel Hydrodesulfurization Catalyst”, designated by the publication number CN120515485A; the application was submitted in February 2024. The patent abstract indicates that the present invention provides a method for preparing a diesel hydrodesulfurization catalyst. The catalyst contains ZSM-5 molecular sieve and alumina; the average pore size of the alumina is greater than that of the ZSM-5 molecular sieve. The pore size of the alumina is higher than that of the ZSM-5 molecular sieve, typically by 2–15 nm, with 4–10 nm being preferred. The preparation method of the catalyst includes the following steps. (1) Select or prepare ZSM-5 molecular sieve 1, and introduce a hydrogenation-active metal into ZSM-5 molecular sieve 1 ; (2) Select or prepare ZSM-5 molecular sieve 2, and introduce hydrogenation-active metals into ZSM-5 molecular sieve 2 ; Optional, (3) select or prepare alumina, and introduce a hydrogenation-active metal into the alumina ; (4) The materials obtained in steps (1), (2), and (3) are mixed and molded to produce the final diesel hydrodesulfurization catalyst. The catalyst can reduce the reaction temperature and extend the operating cycle of the device.
