According to data from the Tianyancha app, Sinopec (600028) has obtained a new invention patent, titled “A Method for Producing Hydrogen from Low- and Heavy-Quality Oils”. Patent abstract: A method for producing hydrogen from low-quality heavy oil, in which the low-quality heavy oil comes into contact with a catalyst containing macroporous zeolites and metal oxides to undergo a pre-decomposition reaction, yielding a reaction stream and an activated catalyst contaminated with carbon ； The reaction stream is separated into reaction gas, light oil, and heavy oil ； Light oil is fed into the hydrogen production reactor to produce reaction gas and an activated catalyst contaminated with carbon ； The reaction gas separated from the pre-decomposition reactor and the hydrogen production reactor is sent to a separation unit for further separation into components including hydrogen, CO, CO2, and light hydrocarbons ； The carbon-loaded deactivated catalyst obtained is sent to a regenerator for regeneration. After being regenerated by calcination, part of the regenerated catalyst is returned to the pre-decomposition reactor for reuse, while another part is sent back to the hydrogen production reactor where it is reduced before being reused. The flue gas from regeneration is separated to yield CO and CO2. This invention performs pre-decomposition on low-quality and heavy crude oils, which not only improves the quality of the feedstock for catalytic cracking but also generates hydrogen as a by-product, thereby enabling efficient utilization of such low-quality and heavy crude oil resources.
