It’s necessary; there is definitely an impact, as the thoroughness of ammonia combustion directly affects the NOx content in the exhaust gases. The key factor is still temperature; it’s mentioned to be above 1400.
After adding amine-burning burners to the sulfur recovery unit, under normal circumstances it will not have much adverse effect on the subsequent systems. Even if a certain amount of NOx is generated, which might exacerbate issues such as corrosion in the Claus unit, it has little effect on NOx emissions in the exhaust gas. Whether the NOX level in the exhaust gas exceeds the standard is mainly related to the combustion efficiency of the burner in the incinerator.
The addition of ammonia-burning burners in part of the Claus unit has little effect on the NOx concentration in the flue gas. This may lead to incomplete combustion of NH3; unless the temperature inside the furnace is insufficient, amine salts will be formed, causing blockages in the system. The incinerator is mainly controlled to regulate NOX in the flue gas.
