This marks the completion of the assembly of all participating units for the methanation, purification, and sulfur recovery units in the synthesis project team, with full deployment in place; thus, the full-scale construction efforts in 2019 have begun. As various tasks related to project construction, progress advancement, and ensuring quality to meet set deadlines are carried out in full swing, safety supervision measures such as those implemented by the owner’s representatives are also being implemented thoroughly. The synthesis project team has begun to make headway on the path toward achieving the company’s 2019 goals of high efficiency and high quality. As an important project for the utilization of acid gas and environmental protection within the company, the sulfur recovery unit holds significant environmental and economic value. Due to its high-temperature and highly toxic processing characteristics, it is essential to strictly control the construction quality, with no lapses allowed at any stage. At the commencement ceremony, the project manager of the center emphasized key requirements regarding construction safety, quality, and deadline adherence. He stressed that 2019 is a crucial year for achieving the company’s \"two high\" goals, and that all project team members as well as personnel from the participating companies must adopt a sense of urgency akin to that before a battle. By ensuring safety and quality, they must work together closely and diligently to complete the remaining tasks of the project, thereby delivering a satisfactory result to the company. The respective PMC managers and supervision units have also made relevant arrangements, addressing construction safety and quality among other aspects. On March 1, Hunan held the startup ceremony for the methanation unit in 2019; on March 4, Sinochem Seventh Construction started work on the purification unit; and on March 9, work began on the sulfur recovery unit shortly thereafter. It is understood that the construction scale of the Liaoning Datang Fuxin coal-to-natural gas project is an annual production of 4 billion cubic meters of natural gas, with construction planned in three phases; the output of the first phase is 1.33 billion cubic meters per year. Based on the financial and economic benefit analysis of the already completed Phase 1 project and the yet-to-be-built Phases 2 and 3 coal-to-natural gas projects, it is planned to build upon Phase 1 by optimizing the existing facilities, making maximum use of the already constructed off-site and auxiliary infrastructure. The scale of new investments will be strictly controlled, with as few changes as possible to the existing plants, in order to achieve the greatest benefits with minimal additional investment. It is planned to add a cryogenic separation unit with an annual capacity of 409,594 cubic meters, a PSA hydrogen production system with an annual capacity of 80,000 cubic meters, an ethylene glycol production unit with a capacity of 40 tons per hour, and four sets of facilities for methanol synthesis and distillation with an annual capacity of 780,000 tons. These facilities will be used to produce methanol, ethylene glycol, and natural gas products.
