The exhaust gas hydrogenation online burner (online furnace) is used to heat the exhaust gas resulting from the combustion of acidic gases via the Claus reaction in the main burner. This online furnace employs sub-stoichiometric combustion to produce hydrogen and reducing gases such as carbon monoxide, which are needed for hydrogenation reduction at the back; it requires stable operation and no carbon deposition at oxygen consumption levels lower than the theoretical value. It does not have online furnace technology; it is not a wireless furnace, and this needs to be clear. There is no online furnace; in other words, for the main burner, combustion does not require the use of an online furnace (i.e., no heating is needed, and there is no need to generate reducing gases within the system). Instead, the elemental S, SO2, COS, and CS2 present in the exhaust gases from the sulfur production furnace (the main burner) are reduced or hydrolyzed into H2S using a special hydrogenation catalyst designed for exhaust gas treatment, all at a very low hydrogen partial pressure and extremely low operating pressure (around 0.02–0.03 MPa). The H2S thus produced is then absorbed by an alcoholamine solution. The liquid containing H2S is subjected to regeneration treatment, after which the H2S-rich gas is returned to the main burner to continue the Claus combustion reaction. In short, the fuel for the online furnace is hydrogen, which undergoes sub-equivalent combustion; the amount of remaining hydrogen is controlled, while the exhaust gases from the sulfur production section are heated and mixed into the hydrogenation reactor where the hydrogenation reaction takes place; A furnace without an online system utilizes the residual heat from the flue gas incinerator to heat the flue gas, with hydrogen being added externally to the hydrogenation reactor
It can be understood as different ways of heating: using electricity, steam, or a furnace! I’d also like to correct someone upstairs: the fuel used in online furnaces is mainly refined gas or natural gas; hydrogen is rarely used as a fuel!
