Total investment of 250 million yuan! Projects such as 500 tons/year of perfluoropolyethers have been approved! On March 1, 2025, the Yichang Ecology and Environment Bureau approved the project to produce 10,000 tons of silicone-based products and 500 tons of perfluoropolyether (PFPE) per year by Silenergy New Materials. It is understood that the project is planned to require an investment of 250 million yuan. The main construction tasks include building new factories and control and inspection buildings, as well as purchasing production equipment such as reaction kettles and reaction towers. Once completed, the facility will be able to produce 10,000 tons of silicone-based products per year, along with 500 tons of perfluoropolyether (PFPE) products. Recent developments in some fluorine chemical projects: 1. Technical upgrade project for producing high-purity sulfur hexafluoride for electronic products. On February 28th, the Zibo Ecology and Environment Bureau accepted the environmental impact assessment report for this project and made it public. The project is planned to require an investment of 13 million yuan. The construction will involve adding 6,000 tons per year of electronic-grade sulfur hexafluoride, bringing the total annual output to 2,600 tons ； Post-treatment framework processing capacity: increased by 1,500 tons per year, reaching 4,500 tons per year. 2. Phosphorus-fluorine new materials circular economy industrial park project: On February 26, the Dazhou Municipal People’s Government and Guizhou Phosphorus Chemical (Group) Co., Ltd. held a ceremony to sign the cooperation agreement for the phosphorus-fluorine new materials circular economy industrial park project. Guizhou Phosphating (Group) plans to invest in the construction of projects related to the production of high-purity anhydrous hydrogen fluoride, fine phosphates, and the comprehensive utilization of phosphogypsum. The first phase of the plan involves the construction of a sub-project for high-purity anhydrous hydrogen fluoride, which will be funded and built by Wengfu (Group) Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Guizhou Phosphorus Group. 3. The technical upgrade project for Quzhou Huanxin Fluorine Materials Co., Ltd. to produce 5,200 tons of fluorosilicon materials per year was approved on February 26 by the Zhizao Xincheng Branch of the Quzhou Ecology and Environment Bureau. The project plans to invest 27 million yuan, with new production capacity of 3,000 tons per year of trifluoropropene (using the vapor-phase process) and 200 tons per year of fluorosilicone rubber. The existing production capacity of 1,000 tons per year of trifluoropropene will be converted from the liquid-phase process to the vapor-phase process, resulting in an overall production capacity of 5,000 tons per year of trifluoropropene (via the vapor-phase process) and 200 tons per year of fluorosilicone rubber. 4. The high-end fluorine new materials project (Phase I) of Fujian Zhongzhou New Materials Technology Co., Ltd. On February 24, the Sanming Ecology and Environment Bureau approved the environmental impact assessment report for this project and made it public. The construction of this project involves an annual production capacity of 1,500 tons of perfluorohexanone, 150 tons of perfluorotributylamine, 250 tons of perfluorotripropylamine, 50 tons of trifluoromethanesulfonic acid, and 100 tons of lithium bis(trifluoromethanesulfonylimide), among other products. 5. The trichloroethylene and related projects of Jiangxi Lihua Chemical Industry Co., Ltd.: On February 24, the second announcement regarding the environmental impact assessment for these projects was issued by Jiangxi Lihua Chemical Industry Co., Ltd. The project plans to invest 500 million yuan to build a new 10,000 t/a CTFE production facility, with the simultaneous production of 1,000 t/a TrFE, as well as a 20,000 t/a R113 production plant. The project is planned to be constructed in two phases. In the first phase, a plant with an annual capacity of 5,000 tons of chlorotrifluoroethylene (CTFE) will be built, with 500 tons of trifluoroethylene (TFE) produced as a by-product; simultaneously, a plant with an annual capacity of 10,000 tons of trifluorotrichloroethane (R113) will also be constructed.
