On January 7, Xinzhoubang disclosed on an investor platform that the 36,000-ton production capacity facility for lithium hexafluorophosphate at Jiangxi Shilei Fluorine Materials Co., Ltd., in which the company has invested, has completed its technical upgrades and is now in the trial production phase. 2026 will be a crucial year as new production capacity is gradually brought online and starts contributing to output. As previously disclosed by Xinzhoubang, by 2025, Jiangxi Shilei’s production capacity for lithium hexafluorophosphate will be 24,000 tons per year, with a monthly production capacity of 2,000 tons. The company’s self-sufficiency rate in terms of lithium hexafluorophosphate amounts to 50%-70%; this level of production is sufficient to meet the company’s current needs for electrolyte production. The remaining demand is met through purchases from long-term partners, which not only ensures supply chain stability but also helps optimize costs, enabling the company to respond flexibly to market fluctuations. By the end of 2025, once Shi Lei Fluorine Materials completes its technological upgrades, the self-sufficiency rate for lithium hexafluorophosphate is expected to remain at the current level or increase slightly, thereby balancing cost control with external partnership relationships. Currently, the lithium hexafluorophosphate industry is characterized by a concentration of production among a few key players. Tianci Materials holds a 37% share of the global market with a production capacity of 110,000 tons, while Duofuduo and Tianji Share rank among the top players with production capacities of 65,000 tons and 37,000 tons respectively. Once its 36,000-ton production capacity is fully operational, Xinzhoubang will rank among the top players in the industry, enabling it to compete differently from leading firms and effectively filling any gaps in market supply. As more compliant production capacity comes online, the sharp price increases in lithium hexafluorophosphate that were caused by an imbalance between supply and demand in the past are likely to cease, and industry prices are expected to return to a more reasonable range and gradually stabilize.
