How do professional drawing review agencies examine chemical plant drawings?

I have communicated with several drawing review agencies, and they generally review civil buildings; they rarely review chemical engineering structures. Does anyone who is familiar with such agencies know which types of drawings for petrochemical enterprises need to be submitted to them for review, and which ones do not?

For chemical engineering projects (that are not owned by Sinopec), local drawing review centers generally conduct reviews on specialties such as architecture and structure; they do not handle aspects related to the process design of chemical plants, equipment, electrical and instrumentation systems, or automatic control systems, and thus lack the capability and qualifications to carry out such reviews. If it’s an internal Sinopec project, it might need to be submitted for review by the group, right?
I remember that the review agency would examine the architectural and structural aspects of buildings and structures, ensuring that they do not violate any laws, regulations, or mandatory requirements specific to various fields.

Here, we only conduct reviews on architecture, structure, electrical systems, and water supply and drainage; other processes, equipment, layouts, and pipelines are not reviewed. Actually, even if they were to conduct a review, no issues would be found; after all, there are significant differences among various processes in terms of technology, equipment, layout, and pipelines, and each of them has its own particularities.

It’s also necessary to add reviews for the overall layout and roads; as for the electrical and water supply/pumping systems, only the electrical systems within the buildings and the water supply/pumping systems are reviewed – the team in charge of reviewing electrical diagrams simply doesn’t understand them.
I find the graphic review of chemical engineering projects quite ridiculous. The graphic review center lacks the capability to assess the core aspects of chemical processing projects, such as processes, pipelines, electrical systems, automation controls, and structure; yet it keeps reviewing non-core buildings (such as office buildings, dormitories, canteens, etc.), which seems like putting the cart before the horse. But without graphic review, a construction permit cannot be obtained; I believe that one day, the spring of streamlined administrative approvals will bring an end to this requirement.

Your building-related drawings just need to be reviewed by a drawing review agency; having the relevant approval stamp is sufficient, and it doesn’t matter if it’s related to the chemical industry or not.
