What diameter should the pressure relief manhole have for a 5000 M3 internal floating roof nitrogen-sealed tank?
This needs to be calculated. The tank diameter, height, operating pressure, whether it is insulated, and the insulation material are required. Generally, the discharge rate of a pressure relief manhole for DN400 is approximately 399 m3/h, while that for DN500 is 6116 m3/h. So you need to calculate the leakage rate of the storage tank
SH3007 stipulates that the pressure relief manhole shall be no smaller than DN500

It is a floating-roof tank with a nitrogen blanket. I’m not sure how to calculate the leakage rate The manual does not provide a calculation method (it only includes calculations for the discharge volume in the case of fires involving non-floating roof tanks); therefore, it is impossible to determine the specifications for the emergency pressure relief manholes. I was wondering if anyone knowledgeable knows how to carry out such calculations?
