It is a three-phase oxidation reaction involving the oxidation by chlorine gas; cooling is required for this reaction. The jacket surrounding the reactor bottom is filled with a refrigerant to achieve cooling effects. The existing device at the top of the reactor is a packed tower. Could a falling film tube be used to form a heat exchanger, with the material flowing along the walls of the falling film tubes while cooling water flows in the shell side, thereby cooling the material and absorbing any excess chlorine gas generated during the reaction? Seeking landlords, experts out there.

Cooling should be no problem; as for absorption, you’ll need to think about it further

Your device is really uncommon; it’s not one of the standard devices, but it’s not entirely unheard of either. So you should consult a manufacturer of falling film heat exchangers
