A 3000 m3 methanol tank, which originally had an internal floating roof, was modified to have an internal floating roof combined with a nitrogen seal; an emergency pressure relief valve was installed on the bypass of the nitrogen supply line beneath the tank. Is this appropriate?
It is not appropriate; a separate pipeline for an emergency pressure relief valve should be installed.
There is a control valve, but is it appropriate to locate the vent at a lower position?
Emergency pressure relief valves are all installed on the top of the tank; if you install one on a small nitrogen sealing pipeline, can it relieve pressure quickly?
