How to conduct a HAZOP analysis for an existing unit? Is the cooperation of the design personnel required?

It is up to you to decide whether to do it or not, but the approach must follow the HAZOP process. This generally requires collaboration between the design team and the plant team, including process designers from engineering companies, equipment suppliers, operators and supervisors, plant automation personnel, plant EHS staff, plant maintenance workers, quality inspection staff, and those responsible for verification.
