Pressure gauges that are subject to mandatory inspection require testing every six months. When they are removed for calibration, is it necessary to install a backup pressure gauge? And does the backup pressure gauge also need to undergo mandatory inspection?
We replaced it with a spare pressure gauge, but the spare gauge isn’t subject to inspection due to the short time frame. This matter should be specified in the company’s measurement management regulations. As long as the Technical Supervision Bureau has no objections, it is considered compliant.

May I ask how your company carries out the mandatory inspection of pressure gauges? Do you prepare as many spare gauges as there are gauges to be inspected on site, or do you use some of the already-inspected gauges as substitutes?
If your own company has a CMA certificate, you can conduct the inspections yourself; it’s sufficient to have a few units of each model.
Pressure gauges must be recalibrated when their expiration date arrives
