For a company to implement 5S management, it must first have a thorough understanding of 5S, including its implementation approach and processes. With a clear approach, it becomes much easier to take action. In fact, the concept behind “5S management” is very simple and straightforward. It sets requirements for the daily behavior of every employee in a company, advocating the practice of starting with small things in order to help each employee develop the habit of paying attention to details, thereby improving the overall quality of work. The term 5S comes from the first letters of corresponding Japanese words; their meanings are as follows: Seiri – removing anything unnecessary from the workplace. Seiton – keeping all items in the workplace organized and tidy, with proper labeling, in order to avoid clutter, confusion among products, and difficulty in finding what is needed. Seiso – maintaining a clean environment, as well as clean equipment, instruments, tools, and materials. Seiketsu – developing consistent habits, supported by appropriate supervision and inspection measures. Shitsuke – fostering a spirit of courtesy and professionalism, such as respecting others, taking care of company property, following rules, and having a strong sense of time management. When companies implement 5S management, they carry out improvements in these five areas, train their employees, and strengthen the concept of civilized production, so that the environment in every part of the company and the behavior of each employee meet the standards set by 5S. Based on the experience of companies both domestically and internationally in implementing 5S management, it has proven to be highly effective in improving the working environment, increasing productivity, ensuring product quality, creating a positive corporate culture, and fostering a good corporate atmosphere
