Dear sea friends, I have heard of MES systems before, but only in passing. For oil refining companies, what specific functions can they actually fulfill? I seek help from experts to resolve this issue. For example, current production data is processed manually; can a simple MES system achieve automatic data retrieval? I earnestly ask experts for answers; thank you so much.

I have been using the MES system for five years now; it works pretty well and has quite a lot of functions. For example: monitoring the operating status, querying and retrieving relevant data and curves in case of accidents, automatically summarizing process parameters, automatically generating production reports (after entering the relevant data), etc. What was mentioned earlier is all quite important. As for overall material balance and statistics, you don’t need to use them, as this requires installing remote flow meters for each material user, which involves high costs, great difficulty, and a lot of time and effort.
MES serves as a bridge for information exchange between production activities and management activities. It collects various data and status information throughout the entire process, from receiving orders to producing the final product, with the aim of optimizing production management and emphasizing accurate, real-time data.
