What certifications are required for the fire shields of the actuators of the isolation valves in tank areas?
The certification body must be an internationally renowned classification society. The certificate must be of the type/lot type, and it must certify the box-type structure of the actuator. Certification is also required for accessories that have protective covers (including quick-opening doors and ventilation systems). A design evaluation certificate issued by the classification society for this project is necessary (including the project name, operating conditions, and list of drawings)
1. Classification society type approval in compliance with UL1709. 2. Design evaluation documents (the calculations and drawings related to the fire shield for this project must be submitted to the classification society responsible for issuing the type approval, and then provided to the user along with the product)
